Dear Emma, There are few things I regret more than the fact that I never personally contacted you when Laura passed. At first I thought I should give you and your family some space, trusting Tim to give you my love and condolences instead, which I hope he did - but the more time passed, the less able I seemed to come up with the words, any words that could even begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. I could never imagine what you are going through and I won't pretend that I can. What I can do, however, is make this small contribution to your remarkable cause. What you are doing to honour Laura's memory is truly astonishing; it shows strength and spirit most of us could only dream of. I am so, so sorry that it was too late for Laura, but the funds and awareness that you are raising will no doubt help saving the lives of many others. Although we're no longer connected by family, I truly hope to see you one day so I can give you a long embrace that will hopefully speak the words that I'm so incapable of putting down in writing.
